The store is a relatively new find in the local mall, and something about the natural smell appeals to me more than the overpowering synthetic perfume smell of a place like Bath and Body Works (though I do like the occassional smell from there). We’re talking scents like roses, sage, cloves, mints, rosemary and the like. And for once I dont find the inner hairs of my nose curling and making me sneeze because of the overpowering nature of the perfume. It’s subtle.

Not only is it all natural and eco friendly but it works well also. I bought a bar of their facial soap “Coal Face” which contains ground charcoal, and have found that my face has never felt so divoid of grease. Previously I could probably have fried up things in the grease from my face. And the lack of chemicals prevents my skin from being irritated by perfume or excess estringent agents.

Other soaps we have tried and loved have been:

Demon in the Dark-A black soap containing cloves and mint. It also contians apple juice which is naturally refreshing.

Alkmaar-Honeysuckle,vetiver,and jasmine scented with skin conditioners to leave you feeling silky soft

Sultana of Soap-Cranberries and other dried fruits, Olibanum oil, and Bergamot oil leave you not only feeling soft but feeling perky too. The soap looks like a lump of rich fruit cake and has an amazingly rich lather.

Buffy the Backside Slayer-Use this on the bumpy bits. I laughed when I read the name on this one because I love me some Buffy. But the stuff works and feels great too. Natural butters moisturize as ground rice, almonds and aduki beans smooth the rough bits and buff your skin to perfection — leaving you soft and silky all over.

Ring of Roses-Roses. Smells like roses. Nuff said.
